We’re thrilled to announce that Lisa Widder, PTA, LMT has joined the Natural Balance Therapy team as our newest myofascial release therapist. She’ll be in the office on Tuesdays and Fridays starting in November.
Lisa is a myofascial release therapist with over 13 years of experience in the healing modalities. With a compassionate approach and expert guidance, Lisa has been instrumental in helping her clients regain functionality and reclaim active lifestyles.
Inspired by her own personal journey as a mother to three grown children, Lisa developed a deep interest in the healing arts when one of her children required physical therapy for sensory integration. Witnessing the transformative work of the therapist, Lisa’s fascination with the human body was ignited, propelling her to delve further into the intricacies of our body’s processes.
Lisa began her career as a Physical Therapy Assistant in Rockford, IL, where she spent a decade at OrthoIllinois, assisting individuals in their recovery from sports injuries, neck and back injuries, and joint replacements. Driven by an insatiable thirst for knowledge, Lisa expanded her skill set by becoming a Licensed Massage Therapist in 2021.
Ever curious to expand her knowledge, Lisa constantly seeks opportunities to enhance her therapeutic abilities. Over the years, she has immersed herself in various educational pursuits, attending courses on kinesio-taping, cupping, and advanced sports rehab. However, it was the profound impact of myofascial release that resonated deeply with Lisa, leading her to embrace the John Barnes’ Myofascial Release Approach. She believes that addressing the whole person—body, mind and spirit—is key to healing. Lisa’s passion for making a positive impact in the lives of those she serves is evident in her unwavering commitment to their well-being.
Hailing from the beautiful state of Wisconsin, Lisa revels in exploring the natural wonders of the Midwest. She approaches each season with unbridled joy and enthusiasm, embracing the unique beauty it offers. When she’s not in the therapy room, you might also find her curled up with a good book or putting together a jigsaw puzzle, indulging in her love for leisurely activities that engage her mind and bring moments of relaxation.
